Coaching - What To Do If You Feel Despair
By Jason Osborn
No matter where you are in life, there will be times when you
will feel despair. As hard as you may try to avoid despair, it's
important to know what to do if you happen to experience it.
Surprisingly, the answer is fairly simple. Just keep moving on!
The worst thing that you can do is to stop what you are doing
and focus on the despair that you are experiencing. As soon as
you stop, things in your life will begin to stagnate and get
much worse than what you think they are.
There is a quote by Edmund Burke that says, 'Never despair; but
if you do, work on in despair.' This is about as simple as you
can explain how to overcome despair. Don't stop pursuing your
dreams and goals in life. Don't forget the reason why you
started your journey, whatever it may be. Times like these
have a time limit on them. You may feel like the despair and
hopelessness you are experiencing has been going on forever, but
if you keep pressing and never give up, you will see victory.
One question you can ask yourself whether there are things that
you need to do differently than the way you have been doing
them. If there are things you need to adjust, seek counsel from
a life coach or from someone who has been down the same path.
Sometimes all you need is a little adjustment to what you are
doing; and that small adjustment will make all the difference in
the world. But if you just stop and wallow in despair, you will
never be able to hear the advice and counsel of those that can
help you succeed in life.
